by St. Catharines Wellness

Do you ever find some dark hairs around your upper lip, chin, or jaw line?

Many women notice these small hairs, especially in bright natural light, and they can be very embarrassing. There’s nothing worse than noticing a hair one day and wondering just how long it’s been there!

“How could I have missed seeing it there before!”

Most women have been there and can relate.

It’s totally normal for this to happen but it doesn’t mean that everyone is comfortable with it.

So what’s the best way to deal with these pesky, dark, unwanted hairs?

Electrolysis in St. Catharines is the answer to permanent hair removal.

My name is Stephanie Hoogasian and I’ve been helping women—and men too!—get rid of unwanted hair in St. Catharines since 2005. I dealt with unwanted hair myself so I totally understand how you feel!

Let me explain how electrolysis removes hair permanently:

What is Electrolysis and is it right for you?

Electrology is the practice of electrical epilation to permanently remove human hair. The actual process of removing the hair is referred to as electrolysis the practitioner slides a solid hair-thin metal probe into each hair follicle. Proper insertion does not puncture the skin.

Electricity is delivered to the follicle through the probe, which causes localized damage to the areas that generate hairs, either through the formation of caustic lye (galvanic method), overheating (thermolysis method), or both (blend method).

What to expect

I offer a complimentary consultation to discuss the area you’re concerned about. Before we start, I inspect the skin and clean it and then I prepare a disposable needle. With the new technology, treatments are much more tolerable and comfortable.

I apply soothing after creams and numbing cream for your convenience. My work space is inspected by the health board regularly and I use the highest grade disinfectants available.

After the treatment, you can expect a bit of redness that could last a few days, but most people find it disappears within an hour or two.

After several treatments you should see a reduction in hair growth, the amount and the number of treatments depends on the individual. You’ll be thrilled with the results!

I’d be happy to discuss the treatment with you so don’t hesitate to get in touch!
